Spanking Implement of the Week: Purple Heart Paddle
Back in February 2016, I found this beautiful paddle made out of purple heart wood at a kinky cafe in San Francisco called Wicked Grounds. It is by far my favorite large wooden paddle that I have and it is always one of the first things I pack in my spanking on-the-go bag. The purple heart paddle also frequently comes out to play within my NaturallyGin sessions and personal playtime.
This was probably the fifth paddle I had purchased at that point. Previously, some of the others were too loud. If the sound it makes upon contact is too jarring for me and the spankee, then it takes away from the play. Some of them were too heavy. The implement shouldn’t be so heavy that it wears me out – only the spankee’s bottom! Or it broke, oops! Luckily this paddle was just perfect and is still going strong – knock on wood!
Usually I like to link any implement I mention on the blog so that other spanking enthusiasts can purchase their own, but with this particular paddle I actually never knew who created it and the only brand on the paddle itself were the letters LAZ.

I did manage to get in touch with Wicked Grounds about the paddle and after sending them a few photos they identified the woodworker as Lazarus. Unfortunately, Lazarus stopped crafting about five or six years back. Wicked Grounds did buy out what was left of his stock, but sadly there are no new pieces! They have since switched to selling paddles from Torrid Timber in Eugene, Oregon – which are just as lovely as mine and some are also made from purple heart wood.
