In 1930 the novel Les Malheurs de Colette (The Misfortunes of Colette) by Aimé Van Rod was translated to English and featured artwork by Eric Galton. Below you can see how Galton took inspiration from Georges Topfer’s original illustrations in the 1928 edition of Les Malheurs de Colette.
