Ch. Avalanche illustrations from the 1930 novel L’amour fouetté (Whipped Love) by Gaston Vincennes. There is a bit of a mystery surrounding the identity of Ch. Avalanche. Some say it is Marilac, a pseudonym of the Italian artist Mario Laboccetta who illustrated the cover of L’amour fouetté, while others say it is the artist Wighead.
